ClearOS 6.3 includes Zarafa groupware

The ClearFoundation has released the latest version of its small and medium enterprise server distribution. ClearOS 6.3 is based on CentOS (itself based on Red Hat Enterprise Linux) and includes the Zarafa groupware platform which aims to position itself as an alternative to Microsoft's Exchange.

Besides Zarafa, ClearOS 6.3 also includes an anti-virus and a spam filter solution and greylisting for the mail server. ClearCenter, the company offering support services for the distribution, also sells updates for the spam filter for $60 a year. The company also sells a licence for the Zarafa Professional edition for ClearOS for $24, per user, per year. The Professional version of Zarafa includes the ability to connect to the server with Outlook.

Along with the free-of-charge Community Edition of ClearOS 6.3, a Professional version can also be purchased from ClearCenter which comes with various levels of support at various price points. ClearOS Professional 6.3 also includes Zarafa Professional and anti-malware protection for emails and at the web gateway, provided by Kaspersky Lab.
