The Denemo project has released a new version of its music notation program. Denemo 0.8.2, which is available for Windows and Linux. Denomo now offers features, such as MIDI input filter scripts, that enable the user to control the program from a MIDI controller. The software is distributed under the GPL.

Denemo is a GTK+ frontend for the free music notation program LilyPond. Music can be typed in at the keyboard, played into a microphone plugged into a computer's sound card, or entered through a mouse driven graphical interface. The created music can then be output as a text file, in the program's own XML notation, or in open ABC or LilyPond format for printing. Scores can played back by exporting to MIDI or via Csound.
