Fedora 11 Alpha released

Fedora 11, aka Leonidas, alpha has been released, for developers to test and improve. The release is described as a "sanatised snapshot of Rawhide"; Rawhide is the Fedora development branch. It is not intended for daily, or production, use.

New features of Fedora 11 alpha include the default use of the Ext4 file system, Btrfs support, Windows Cross Compiler (mingw32-*), new volume control for audio and PackageKit support for firmware on demand. For desktop users there is a choice of a Gnome 2.26 development snapshot, KDE 4.2 RC2 and Xfce 4.6 beta. Java developers will find NetBeans 6.5 included in the release, while for Python developers there's Python 2.6 in the distribution.
