Jaspersoft 4.7 can query MongoDB in real time

Jaspersoft has released version 4.7 of its Business Intelligence Suite. The new version includes several improvements such as extended reporting and better data analysis functions that are supposed to make the package easier to use for newcomers to the business intelligence space.

The connector for the MongoDB database has also been improved and is now able to analyse data stored in the NoSQL database in real time. Joining the already available iPad application, the developers have released an Android app and a mobile SDK as part of their plan to support more mobile thin clients. Another addition is a scheduling API to allow the programmatic configuration of timed report generation.

The GPL-licensed community edition of Jaspersoft 4.7 is available for download from Jaspersoft's open source page JasperForge. The company is also offering a 30-day trial version of the full Jaspersoft BI Suite which includes additional features such as the software's dashboard that is designed to display data summaries at a glance. Several data integration methods are also exclusive to the commercial versions.
