LibreOffice 3.6.6 fixes 50 bugs

The Document Foundation has announced that the latest release of LibreOffice 3.6, 3.6.6, is now available. The 3.6 branch of LibreOffice is regarded as sufficiently mature that it is suitable for enterprises and end users "who prefer stability to more advanced features". For those who are prepared to sacrifice stability for advanced features, the most recent update of LibreOffice 4, 4.0.2, was made just under a week ago and fixed a similar number of bugs in the 4.x branch of the office suite.

The 3.6.6 maintenance update fixes over 50 bugs, most of which were detailed when the first release candidate was published. These included fixes for incorrect XY-diagrams, PPT export problems, crashes after undo or converting absolute to relative references, misplaced comments around headers, an unrecognised Firefox plugin regression, fixes to saving on Samba-mounted shares, incorrect sorting, crashes when starting with German language packs, thread deadlocks and various other issues. The second release candidate took care of three straggler issues.

The updated LibreOffice is available to download from the LibreOffice.org site; the LibreOffice site normally offers up the latest version (currently 4.x) so to download 3.6.6, select "Change System, Version or Language", then select platform, source or CD/DVD image. Once the platform has been selected, choose the required language and then select 3.6.6 to download the software. LibreOffice is licensed under the LGPLv3.
