Lightweight QupZilla browser supports Greasemonkey scripts

QupZilla 1.3.0 includes an extension that adds support for Greasemonkey user scripts The latest 1.3.0 release of the cross-platform QupZilla web browser adds a number of enhancements and new features, such as support for Greasemonkey scripts. First released in December 2010, QupZilla is a lightweight browser for Linux and Windows that uses the WebKit rendering engine. It was initially written in Python with PyQt4 bindings, but later completely rebuilt in C++ with the Qt Framework.

Support for Greasemonkey user scripts in QupZilla 1.3.0 is achieved through the inclusion of a new plugin; with Greasemonkey, users can install scripts to customise web pages and make on-the-fly changes using JavaScript. A second Personal Information Manager (PIM) plugin has also been added that allows the browser to automatically fill in web forms with stored personal details, such as first and last name, and email address. Once a user's information has been added, they can auto-fill forms by pressing Ctrl+Enter.

QupZilla now includes automatic URL completion in the browser's address bar based on user history and bookmarks, and a tab previews feature that displays small images of other open tabs by hovering the mouse cursor over them. Other notable changes include improvements to AdBlock, support for changing bookmark icons, private browsing enhancements, and new tab options. The SSL Manager now also allows users to import their own certificates.
