MonoDevelop Logo Version 2.6 of MonoDevelop has been released. The new version of the open source Integrated Development Environment (IDE) for programming in C# and other .NET languages adds support for the Git version control system, as well as improved version control views and a new window to quickly resolve conflicts.

MonoDevelop 2.6 includes support for .NET 4.0 projects, a rewritten C# parser that's based on the MCS compiler and a new Add Folder to Project command. Using the MonoMac add-in, available in the add-in manager, developers can create, test and package native Cocoa applications. Other changes include improved compatibility with Visual Studio projects, better support for XBuild and a new add-in manager window. Rudimentary project support for Objective C and a new C# formatting options dialogue have also been added.
