New rules for Linux Kernel Summit participation
The Linux Foundation has changed the selection process for this year's Kernel Summit. Rather than attendance being purely by invitation only, interested individuals are now required to submit proposals to attend, describing their expertise and the topics they would like to discuss. According to Ted Ts'o, who announced the change, the goal is to make the Kernel Summit selection process more transparent.
The 12th Annual Kernel Summit will take place in San Diego, California on 27-29 August. The Kernel Summit precedes LinuxCon North America and the Linux Plumbers Conference, which are also organised by the Linux Foundation. More information on all of these events is available on the Linux Foundation's web site.
