A new update to the Microsoft Silverlight Dynamic Languages SDK has been released. The software developer kit is a bridge between Microsoft's Rich Internet technology Silverlight and the Dynamic Language Runtime (DLR) that enables developers to use any language running on the DLR to build Silverlight applications. IronPython, IronRuby and Managed JScript language library support is included. The SDK includes services to build new languages on top of the DLR, including a dynamic type system and a language hosting model.

The SDK includes Chiron, a dynamic language development utility, as well as sample applications for Ruby and Python, which run from a batch file on Windows and a shell script on Mac. The 0.5.0 beta release also includes the source code for IronPython, IronRuby, the Dynamic Language Runtime, and Chiron.

More details about the release can be found in the release notes. The tool kit uses the Microsoft Public License (Ms-PL), an Open Source Initiative (OSI) approved open source license.
