Official Ubuntu 12.04 LTS getting started guide published
The Ubuntu Manual Project Team has published a new version of its free guide for Canonical's open source Ubuntu Linux operating system. This new edition of the Getting Started guide for the latest Ubuntu 12.04 LTS "Precise Pangolin" release is aimed at both new and existing users alike.
The 143 page PDF manual features comprehensive guides with screenshots, covering such topics as installation and working with the Unity desktop environment, as well as hardware and software management. Other subjects detailed in the guide include troubleshooting tips, working with the command-line and basic security concepts.
The "Getting Started with Ubuntu 12.04" guide is available from the project's Downloads page. The guide is licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution–Share Alike 3.0 Licence (CC BY-SA 3.0) which allows people to create works based on the manual, as long as it is correctly attributed and available under the same licence.
