Oracle announces MySQL Installer for Windows
Oracle has announced the general availability (GA) of a new MySQL installer for Windows. Using the GUI-based installer, users can install all of the MySQL products at the same time – an integrated update system for all of the installed products is also included. The company says that the open source database installer for Windows will simplify the overall installation process for users, significantly reducing installation time.
At the same time, Oracle has confirmed that it has finished certification of the Enterprise Edition of MySQL for Windows Server 2008 R2 Failover Clustering, allowing Windows users to deploy applications that require high levels of availability. The company will be holding an online webinar to demonstrate these new capabilities on 15 September 2011 at 9:00am PST. Further information and registration details can be found on the web seminar page.
