Less than two weeks after the release of version 3.6, Parted Magic version 3.7 has been released. Parted Magic can be used to create, move, delete and resize drive partitions and will run on a machine with 128MB of RAM. File systems supported include ntfs, fat, reiserfs, reiser4 and hfs+. LVM and RAID are also supported.

The 3.7 update includes bug fixes, updates and some new features. Previously the package installer had a scripting error that wouldn't allow more than one package to be installed. G4L now works with the added /mnt/local. The code for booting ISOs directly using GRUB4DOS has now also been merged back into the release. Updated packages in Parted Magic 3.7 are hdparm-9.11, util-linux-ng-2.14.2, linux2.6.28.7, coreutils-7.1 (only dd, cp, shred, split, stty), ddrescue-1.10, firefox-3.0.6, FireFTP-1.0.4, lshw-B.02.14 and di-4.13.

Parted Magic's developer is particularly in need of donations at present, due to a failed motherboard. The goal for donations for a new development machine is "about $800". The developer is asking that people whose lives are made easier by Parted Magic "donate a few bucks." Parted Magic 3.7 is available to download and can be run as a LiveCD or LiveUSB.
