Pentaho BI 4 gets new visual interface
Pentaho has released version 4.0 of its open source Business Intelligence (BI) suite. Available both as a Community Edition and a commercial Enterprise Edition, the latest major release adds a new interactive, web-based report designer and rich data discovery capabilities. The user interface in Pentaho BI Suite 4.0 has also been completely redesigned.
Details about the latest version can be found in a post by founder and CEO Richard Daley on the Pentaho blog and in the What's New documentation. At the time of writing, the download page for the Enterprise Edition still shows the first release candidate (RC1) of Pentaho BI Suite 4.0 as the latest version. The Community Edition can be downloaded from the Pentaho Wiki. The Pentaho BI Platform is licensed under the GPLv2, other components are licensed under the GPLv3, LGPL, EPL and MPL, with a FLOSS exception.
