Perl web framework Mojolicious reaches 3.0
The Perl real-time web framework Mojolicious has reached version 3.0. Mojolicious offers a simple RESTful framework with Perl styled templates, cookies, testing framework and static file server created with an object-oriented Perl API. Version 3.0, code-named "Rainbow", is the result of eight months of work by the newly formed core development team, and adds many new features.
These new features include improved support for TLS and IPv6, a reworked command system, asset plugins, CPAN and Generator commands for easier extensions, and the ability for the framework to cooperate with other event loops. There are also JSON enhancements, a more flexible router and renderer, and a "not found" page which offers assistance. Other enhancements include an easier to configure Hypnotoad, Fully RFC 6455 compliant Websockets and a separate I18N plugin. Full details are available in the Changes file.
Mojolicious 3.0 is available under the Artistic Licence 2.0. It can be installed by running curl get.mojolicio.us | sh
. Documentation, screencasts and a wiki are available and the source can be found on the project's Github repository.
