SabreDAV Most calendar clients are able to use the CalDAV protocol which allows remote swapping of appointments – however, there is a shortage of open source CalDAV servers. Version 1.2 of open source PHP framework SabreDAV now includes the requisite functionality.

It does not yet implement every detail of the standard and is, for example, missing the VFREEBUSY function for sharing information on free and busy times. In contrast to the web_dav Apache module, SabreDAV does not just manage files using WebDAV, it also manages other resources such as database entries.

SabreDAV requires at least PHP 5.2.1, and developer Evert Pot has already announced that it will in future require 5.3. SabreDAV has been tested with MySQL and SQLite databases, but, since it uses the PDO abstraction layer, should be compatible with other database servers. SabreDAV source code is released under a new BSD license and can be downloaded from the project page on Google Code.
