Second update for Debian Squeeze
The Debian project has refreshed the current stable release, Squeeze, with an update that mostly contains the security fixes made since March's first update of Squeeze. In addition to the security fixes, this release contains an updated long term support kernel which, in turn, brings in new hardware drivers.
According to the developers, new installation media with CD and DVD images will be available soon at the "regular locations". Users who are already using Debian Squeeze and regularly update their system online will have already received all the updates for Debian 6.0.2. Older CDs or DVDs of Debian Squeeze are not obsoleted but can be upgraded after installation, via the online update, to the latest version. But those who do have to install several systems should wait for the image of Debian 6.0.2 to become available, rather than installing and updating later; among other things, this will minimise the load on the Debian update servers.
