Siduction 2012.1 update has KDE SC 4.8.4
The Siduction developers have issued a minor update to version 2012.1 of their Debian-based Linux kernel to integrate several minor enhancements and upgrade the included KDE SC desktop environment. Code-named "Desperado Reloaded", Siduction 2012.1.1 now offers the recent KDE SC 4.8.4 stabilisation update from earlier this month in addition to the other desktop choices: Xfce and LXDE.
The new version upgrades its underlying OS to a snapshot of Debian "Sid" from 24 June 2012, and has been extended to include various useful packages and scripts. It uses a custom patched version of the 3.4.4 Linux kernel, various custom installers and X Server 1.12.1. The developers also note that Siduction now uses SQlite rather than MySQL as the default database in the kdepim package for the Akonadi framework.
ISO images of Siduction 2012.1.1 "Desperado Reloaded" with a choice of KDE SC 4.8.4, LXDE 0.5.5 or Xfce 4.8.3 are available to download for 32- and 64-bit systems. Only the LXDE edition will fit onto a standard CD; the developers recommend that users install all other ISO images using a USB flash drive.
