Charlie Miller called Mac OS X "safer, but less secure", a botnet with built in copy protection emerged, an exploit which can use DNS tunnelling to call home was published, reverse oriented programming to dodge DEP appeared in a PDF exploit and a report on the debate over Virtual PC vulnerabilities.

Among the highlights this week, the beta of Ubuntu 10.04 arrived as Mark Shuttleworth reported progress in synchronising distributions. Google's Native client now supports ARM, the LiMux project leader talked about the challenges of bringing free software to Munich's administration and the week would not be complete without the latest developments in the SCO vs Linux saga.
