Ubuntu Tweak 0.7.3 also tweaks Linux Mint
The latest release of Ubuntu Tweak, version 0.7.3, comes with many bug fixes and also introduces support for Linux Mint 13. Other new features include the ability for users to disable and enable the guest login on Ubuntu systems.
The Ubuntu Tweak tool allows users to change a number of desktop settings and system-wide configuration options that are not exposed in Unity's preferences dialogs. Previous to this version, Ubuntu Tweak was only available for Ubuntu and was mainly aimed at Unity. With this release, the added support for Linux Mint also adds support for other GNOME3-based desktop interfaces such as Cinnamon.
Under Ubuntu 12.10, the tool now removes linux-image-extra files when cleaning up old kernels and is generally more stable, according to the developers. Bugs fixed include a problem with the quicklist editor and a bug where the Ubuntu Tweak plugin for LightDM would not always appear in the program.
Ubuntu Tweak 0.7.3 is available for download from Launchpad and can also be installed from a Personal Package Archive. Its source code is licensed under the GPLv2.
