digiKam 1.2.0 adds multithreading
The digiKam developers have announced the release of version 1.2.0 of their open source advanced digital photo management application. The latest update includes several new features, such as Album GUI updates, over the previous 1.1.0 release from February.
A number of the image editing tools, including the Colour Balance, Brightness, Contrast, Hue, Channel Mixer and White balance tools, have all gained support for multithreading and a new zoomable preview widget. More than 15 new tools and updates have also been added to the batch manager.
Additionally, the developers have released version 1.2.0 of the Kipi plug-ins to add even more functionality to digiKam. The updated plug-ins feature a redesigned dialogue for PicasaWebExport and a new tool for the Piwigo photo gallery.
More details about the release can be found in the release announcement. Version 1.2.0 of digiKam is available to download from the project's web site. digiKam is licensed under version 2 of the GNU General Public License (GPLv2).
