Debian 5.0 "Lenny" update released
The Debian Project developers have announced the availability of the fourth maintenance update to Debian 5.0, code named "Lenny". The update includes a new version of the Debian installer and addresses several bugs and security issues in the previous release.
Debian 5.0.4 features the 2.6.26 Linux kernel and the Debian installer includes better support for installation from archive.debian.org. Users that currently have Debian 5.0 installed and regularly update their systems via security.debian.org should have already received all of these updates. Debian 5.0.4 is an updated version of the release for fresh installations, for example on new systems.
More details about the release, including a full list of included security updates, can be found in the release announcement and change log. Debian 5.0.4 is available to download from one of the project's mirror sites and an installation guide is provided.
