Fifth Debian 6.0 "Squeeze" update released
The developers at the Debian Project have announced the release of the fifth update to version 6.0 of their popular Linux distribution. The update to the project's current stable branch, known as "Squeeze", consolidates the bug and security fixes made and released since the the previous update, and includes a number of package updates.
The new images are only recommended for those installing Debian Squeeze for the first time. Users already running Debian 6.0.x who regularly update their system over the internet should have already received most, if not all, of the updates for Debian 6.0.5.
A full list of changes and updated packages can be found in the announcement news post and in the change log. Existing users can update their systems using the online update mechanism; new Debian CD and DVD installation images will be "available soon" from the project's mirrors.
