Search engine available for Internet Census 2012 data

Network global icon The enormous amount of data that was accumulated by a hacker who performed a port scan of the entire internet can now be queried online at Exfiltrated.com. This does make things easier: the original log files are around nine terabytes in size once they've been downloaded and unpacked. The filter feature provides a quick way of finding out how many IP addresses responded to specific ports during the Internet Census 2012.

The data was accumulated by a currently unknown hacker who says that he created a botnet by combining about 420,000 poorly protected embedded devices. The hacker explained that he then deployed nmap to the bots and sent out 52 billion pings between June and October last year. A total of 420 million IP addresses, or devices, responded to these requests.
