Languages and tools

• Intel has released the third update for Advisor XE 2013, its modelling tool for identifying potential parallelisms in C/C++, Fortran and C# programs.

• AdaCore, a company that creates development tools and services around the Ada programming language, has released version 2.2 of its CodePeer code analysis tool.

Open Source Libraries and tools

• Now being developed as an open source project, the camunda BPM software has received its first major community contribution. The Fluent Testing library, developed by plexiti, aims to ease the creation of readable and fluent tests when developing applications based on the camunda process engine.

• Version 4.3 of the Python-based Plone CMS introduces the In-Plone theme editor and the Dexterity Content Type Framework that aims to simplify the cooperation between integrators and programmers.

• Spring XD (Extreme Data) is a new open source project from SpringSource that is designed to address big data problems such as data ingestion and export, real-time analytics and batch workflow orchestration.

• There's just one change in it, but there is a new version of GNU ed.

• JavaScript developers who want see what can be done with the in-development ECMAScript 6's yield operator may wish to look at Task.js for simple and beautiful sequential blocking I/O.
