The Red Hat JBoss unit has released version 1.0 of JSFUnit, the open source framework for testing Java Server Faces (JSF) applications. Using a simplified API, JSFUnit is designed to allow complete integration testing and unit testing of JSF applications. The tests run inside of a container that provides full access to managed beans, EL Expressions, the FacesContext and the internal JSF component tree. HtmlUnit, a "headless browser" used for Java programs, is used for client side testing.

JSFUnit can be used with JSF 1.1 and JSF 1.2 as well as future JSF 2.0 applications. It can run with all servlet containers that support JSF as well. The new release supports the current JSF Ajax and JavaScript libraries and XPath. Support for ICEfaces is said to be coming soon.
