MonoDevelop 2.0, beta 1 released
The GNOME open source development environment MonoDevelop has reached its first beta for version 2.0. The tool is specially designed for programming in C# and other .NET languages. It has similar goals to the SharpDevelop project which released version 3.0 last week.
New features in MonoDevelop include the ability to have different rights in a project or solution, by using policies, as well as revisions in code completion and MSBuild. Version 3.0 and 3.5 of the .NET frameworks are now supported. To run the beta of MonoDevelop, its developers advise users to have at least Gtk# 2.8.4 installed. MonoDevelop also requires that Mono 2.0 is installed.
MonoDevelop is licensed under the GPLv2.
