NetBeans 7.0.1 gets in full sync with Java 7
Although the release of NetBeans 7.0 offered Java 7 support, coming before Java 7's release meant that it was not fully certified. Now, the NetBeans developers have released, as planned, NetBeans 7.0.1 which is certified for the final release of Java 7. The refresh also sees the bundled GlassFish updated to 3.1.1, enhancements to the WebLogic integration and what the developers describe as a "significant quality increase" with the inclusion of recent patches.
NetBeans 7.0 arrived in April with initial support for Java 7, wider Oracle Database and Weblogic integration, Maven 3, HTML5 editing and many other improvements to the IDE. The next release of NetBeans will be 7.1, due in October; according to the NetBeans wiki, the 7.1 release will focus on supporting JavaFX 2.0, CSS3 and improved performance.
NetBeans 7.0.1 will be an automatic update for NetBeans 7.0 users. New users can download an appropriate edition of NetBeans 7.0.1 from the download page. NetBeans is dual-licensed under the CDDL and GPLv2.
