RubyConf 2011 registration opens
The RubyConf organisers have announced that registration for the 2011 International Ruby Conference is now open. This year's event will take place from 29 September to 1 October at the Astor Crowne Plaza in New Orleans, Louisiana.
Founded in 2001, the official conference for the Ruby programming language is aimed at users, contributors and developers, from both inside and outside of the Ruby community. The RubyConf 2011 opening keynote will be presented by Ruby creator Yukihiro "Matz" Matsumoto; there will also be a Q&A session with Matsumoto on the final day. Sessions will be split into three tracks, with topics ranging from implementing Ruby and testing, to MacRuby on Rails and GitHub. The full conference schedule is available online.
Those interested in attending are asked to register as soon as possible; standard tickets cost $350 each. Further information can be found on the RubyConf.org web site.
