Scala 2.9.1 brings improved interpreter
The Scala development team has announced the release of version 2.9.1 of the functional/object-oriented language. The latest stable release of the Java Virtual Machine (JVM) based language is a maintenance update which brings a number of improvements to the interpreter and fixes for various bugs found in the previous release. Early informal tests by Scala users report that the interpreter starts much faster, while compilation performance is only improved slightly.
Further information about this stable update, including a complete list of changes, can be found in the release announcement. Scala 2.9.1 is available to download from the project's site and documentation is provided. Scala is released under a 3 clause BSD licence.
