Clonezilla Live adds UFS support
Clonezilla developer Steven Shiau has announced the release of version 1.2.4-28 of Clonezilla Live. Clonezilla is an open source clone system (OCS) with features similar to Symantec Ghost Corporate Edition and Partimage. In addition to translation updates and several bug fixes, the latest Clonezilla Live release adds support for new file systems.
The LiveCD edition of Clonezilla features support for the Unix file system (UFS) used by FreeBSD, NetBSD and OpenBSD. According to the developers, UFS support has been successfully tested on FreeBSD 8.0, OpenBSD 4.6 and NetBSD 5.0.2. Support for VMware's Virtual Machine File System (VMFS), used by VMWare ESX, has also been added. Other changes include the availably of 686 kernel with support for multi-core CPUs and the inclusion of both the SYSLINUX and ISOLINUX boot loaders.
