First major release of g-Eclipse
The open-source g-Eclipse project has had it's first major release. It started over two years ago with the support of the European Union initiative; with further development now under the umbrella of the Eclipse foundation and other European projects. Version 1.0 of g-Eclipse has been released with support for grid middleware solutions g-Lite, GRIA and Amazon's Cloud storage platforms, EC2 and S3.
g-Eclipse is a user interface that provides access to the Grid and Cloud platforms. Beyond that, it supports adaptable Grid applications, administered Grid resources , and the development cycle of new Grid applications.
Standalone packages for version 1.0 of g-Eclipse for Windows 32-bit, Linux 32-bit and 64-bit, and Mac OS X are available to download from the g-Eclipse website.
